Privacy Policy — Artha

Last updated: 7 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Artha mobile application (“Artha”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. Artha is a personal finance, documents and tasks app developed by Keval Odedra. By using the app you agree to this policy.

In short: Your data is yours. It is stored in your own Google account — Google Firebase for your app data, and your own Google Drive for any files you attach or back up. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use any third‑party analytics or tracking.

1. Information we collect

Account information

You sign in with Google. Through Google Sign‑In and Firebase Authentication we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier. This is used solely to create and secure your account and to keep your data private to you.

Data you enter in the app

Artha stores the content you create so it is available across your devices, including: accounts and balances, transactions, budgets, recurring rules, price comparisons, categories, documents (such as titles, numbers, expiry dates and notes) and tasks/reminders. This information is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account and is readable and writable only by you.

Files you attach or back up

When you attach a receipt/document or create a backup, the file is stored in your own Google Drive. Artha uses the restricted drive.file scope, which only allows the app to access files it has created — it cannot see or access any of your other Drive files.

Information stored only on your device

Some data stays on your device and is not sent to us: app settings and a local working draft (via on‑device storage), scheduled reminder notifications, and — if you enable the optional app lock — biometric unlock. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device’s operating system; we never receive or store your fingerprint or face data.

2. How we use your information

We use your information only to provide the app’s features: to authenticate you, store and sync the finance/documents/tasks data you enter, send the reminders you schedule, and back up your data at your request. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running the app.

3. Third‑party services

Artha relies on the following services to function:

4. Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. Your data is only processed by the services listed above for the sole purpose of operating Artha.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained until you choose to delete it. You can delete individual items (transactions, accounts, documents, tasks, and so on) directly within the app, and you can remove attachments/backups from your Google Drive.

To request deletion of your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below and we will permanently delete your data from Firestore. You can also revoke Artha’s access to your Google account at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions.

6. Security

Your data is isolated per user: security rules ensure that only your authenticated account can read or write your data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google’s secured infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information. Please also keep your device and Google account secure.

7. Children

Artha is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
